I love to sew and do craft.
However, as a working mother, finding time to do sewing and handicraft is a luxury.
It often come after all my major urgent work and important household chores are completed.
For me, it is just one way to relax and de-stress.
After started working, married and the arrival of my three children, my sewing come to almost a complete stop and that was for around 15 years! Besides there are so many nice, trendy and affordable clothing available in the market, no need for me to risk sew with my unpredictable and inconsistent skills. Sewing is just to mend some minor torn shirt or pants.
This blog is a way for me to keep and share my sewing and crafting journey. You can see how they evolve and improved (mostly). It is also for me to keep the memories as most of them are given away.

My Sewing Journey
I remember started sewing clothes for my dolls when I was around 10 or 11 years old.
The products were terrible. Then after my secondary education, while I was waiting for my SPM results I went for sewing course instead of going for computer or typing courses which were in-thing during that time. I learnt some basic sewing technique and managed to sew some skirts, blouses and dresses but they are very basic and very unrefined as I am not a meticulous person and a bit impatient. Then I continued my studies and again during long holiday I went for sewing course. My workmanship was still not very good and very untidy. I was a bit discouraged with my product. Then I went to university and during semester break, I did some sewing and craft work. I remember sewing for my friends and reflecting back, I don't think they were good but my friends were so kind to just accept whatever I have sewn for them.
The turning point was around 2 years ago when I decided to invest in a Janome sewing machine. (All this while, I have been using my mom's Singer sewing machine in her house). The purchase came with a one year sewing course. The course is project based and I learnt some basic techniques in quilting and sewing tote and bags. I am not very interested in sewing skirts, dresses or other type of clothing since it requires some level of drawing skills and besides, there are so many trendy, affordable and ready-to-wear ones in the market. I am interested in sewing projects which are simple, fast and practical. Tote, pouches and pencil case are my favourites. My other future projects might be wallets, purses, oven mittens, aprons and perhaps laptop cases. I am learning a lot from the various online tutorials. I still have a long way to go...
Craft
Handicraft is another great interest of mine. It is more manageable as I can choose simple and fast craft to do. Bead work was one my craze but it is too time consuming and tedious. The latest craft I learnt is decoupage and I find it very interesting and therapeutic also. This blog is a way for me to keep and share my sewing and crafting journey.
